As a Technical Trainer at AppNexus, you will join a growing Education and Enablement team. This role offers the unique opportunity to influence and shape the way AppNexus educates clients and employees.
The Technical Trainer will deliver in-person and virtual trainings for AppNexus and play a key role in spreading product knowledge to clients and internal teams. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design and deliver training via in-person classroom sessions, virtual instructor-led trainings, and webinars. You will also deliver training to internal employees in client-facing roles, equipping them with the product and industry expertise needed to engage their clients.

Education and Enablement delivers the training needed to optimize customer interactions, accelerate platform onboarding, and support adoption of AppNexus products and services at scale. We work internally with teams across AppNexus, as well as with clients and third-party vendors, to create and deliver high-impact training.

About the job:

  • Become an expert on AppNexus’ products and business, as well as the broader online advertising ecosystem
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, impactful learning experiences tailored to the needs of in-person and virtual audiences
  • Partner with internal subject-matter experts to create and continuously improve client-facing training assets, ensuring alignment with product innovations and business objectives
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with product managers, technical writers, subject matter experts, client services, product marketing and product support teams to prioritize client training needs and collaborate on execution
  • Work with Instructional Designers and third-party vendors to develop and continually improve our training curriculum
  • Support projects to continually enhance team operations, processes, effectiveness, and productivity
  • Support delivery and continual improvement of a set of sales and/or services training programs in conjunction with Field Enablement
  • Channel training content feedback from the field back to Instructional Design to support continual content evolution
  • Define scalable processes and identify efficiencies to improve the internal stakeholder experience


About your skills:

  • 2-5+ years of work experience, ideally in a training role
  • Proven ability to deliver trainings and engage audiences in person and virtually via various conference platforms (i.e. Webex)
  • Ability to craft polished training materials with minimal oversight
  • Strong “ownership” mentality and a bias for action
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills and ability to effectively engage with various external and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze client and internal stakeholder insight, identify client training and development needs, and utilize tools and metrics to evaluate training effectiveness
  • Strong experience scoping, designing and delivering training/education programs with measurable impact on stakeholders
  • Ability to influence without direct control through collaboration and mutual understanding
  • Consultative approach to understanding requirements and challenges and translating these into opportunities in order to craft solutions
  • Demonstrated interest in technology and an ability to learn new technologies quickly; Technical background and/or familiarity with ad tech and online advertising a plus
  • 2+ years of experience developing and delivering adult training sessions a plus
  • Familiarity with e-Learning development, Learning Management Systems, sales enablement methodologies, virtual instructor-led learning and blended learning methodologies a plus
  • Ability to travel up to ~25% (domestic and international) to deliver classroom training
